The little village of Verzenay

Hidden at the end of a valley, lies the isolated village of Verzenay with its unusual features : on one side a windmill and on the other a lighthouse built in 1919!

It was the Champagne House J.Goulet that had it built in 1909, the beam of light reached as far as Reims.

During the First World war, the lighthouse was hit by shell fire, after which it slowly decayed until the idea was put forward of turning it into a tourist attraction.

The lighthouse has now been magnificently restored as a Vineyard Museum !
